You can visit Operation Smile’s website for LOTS of information about them: https://www.operationsmile.org/

From Wikipedia: “Operation Smile is a nonprofit medical service organization founded in 1982 by Dr. William P. Magee Jr. and his wife Kathleen S. Magee. It is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition to providing cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children worldwide, Operation Smile works as a non-governmental organization to reduce the occurrence of cleft lips and palates worldwide.”

For many years, as a Close To My Heart demonstrator/consultant/maker, I raised money for Operation Smile. I have chosen to CONTINUE to support Operation Smile - personally, by sending a monthly donation AND to raise funds and collect donations at my events. I encourage YOU to help me help Operation Smile when you visit Pat’s Place. There is always a ‘donation jar’ - or you can choose to add a donation to the cost of your workshop or purchase.

At events such as Craft’n’Crops, I’ve offered Silent Auctions to raise funds, and am happy to say that at one event, we raised about $330 - at another we raised $440! Operation Smile tells us that one operation for cleft lip/palate costs about $240 (doctors donate their time) so I’m happy to say that I will continue to support Operation Smile’s efforts to give smiles to people that may otherwise not have had this opportunity. So please continue to support Operation Smile with me!
